March 26th 2010

Hi! We have had a very fun week! On Sunday, we went to the park and the girls enjoyed climbing up snow covered "mountains" with their boots on. Olivia said, "we are going on a great adventure and doing some exploring". Here are some pics:

I took the girls to the zoo again on Monday....it was a beautiful day. The girls enjoyed eating ice cream after a healthy lunch. Olivia ordered chocolate with sprinkles and Adyson chose vanilla with sprinkles. Adyson held her cup all by herself and scooped out most of it with her spoon; she sipped the last little bit! We are so glad that we are zoo member; the girls love to go and it is a great way to spend the day.
Here are some pics of the girls enjoying their ice cream:

Here a few of them looking at some fish!

In typical Denver fashion, Monday was beautiful and Tuesday evening a snowstorm rolled in. The girls and I went to the gym right when the snow began to fall and by the time we were finished the roads were already a mess. Over a foot of snow fell over night!

One final note: here is a hysterical video of my Adyson.
Some background info...I was changing her diaper, although had to go down the hall to get another one from her closet. She was in the playroom. I pulled her pants up temporarily and in the 5 seconds I was gone she peed! Then she said she needed to poop and wanted to go on the potty. This is what followed......

March 21, 2010

Happy Sunday! Last week was a busy one! We had Olivia's preschool conference on Thursday and her teacher only had wonderful things to say. It is amazing how much progress she has made in the last year. She now writes her name beautifully, draws detailed pictures, and is learning letters and numbers. She and Adyson love to draw together, and play school. Olivia pretends that she is the teacher, and she pretends that Adyson is one of little preschool students from her class. They do "circle time" and sing songs. Olivia is still enjoying dance class, and we are all looking forward to her upcoming recital in the Spring.

This weekend I was at a local conference and so the girls got spoiled by a few different people. On Friday, Carolyn watched the girls and as always they had a blast with her. Olivia asked me if she go play at her house next time and have a sleepover. Adyson said that they played tag and Carolyn was "goin to get me". Adyson was very bent out of shape because Carolyn left her coat here, and she kept saying "mommy, Carolyn coat here, oh no mommy, oh no mommy!" Olivia was very worried that she would be cold because it was snowing.
Yesterday Wayne took the girls to the Wildlife Experience down the street. Olivia said that they "saw a movie with Shamu, whales, sharks, fish, and a dolphin and ate chicken nuggets and chips!". It all ended when Adyson pooped; papa forgot to bring the diaper bag in so that was their exit cue! Here is a pic...

Last night Wayne and I went to a friends St. Patrick's Day party and Uncle Steve came to the rescue to watch the girls for us. Adyson was so excited to have him come over and kept asking "when Stephen coming?". Hours later the poor thing got sick in her bed when she was sleeping, although remarkably did not get a drop on her body! This morning Olivia told us that last night they all pretended to be animals. Olivia was apparently an elephant and Uncle Steve a crocodile. Adyson said that she was a pig and said "oink oink!".
Today we are doing to lay low...both girls have nasty coughs and colds.

Denver Zoo

Today was a beautiful day in Denver. The high was 65 degrees; we haven't had a day this warm in months! We decided to go to the Zoo, and apparently the rest of the city had the same idea. After driving around for 25 min. to find a parking spot, we finally made it to the front gates! The girls had a blast. Olivia was obsessed with the hippos of course. Adyson loved watching the tiger eat 1o piles of raw meat, and she yelled at the birds that flew overhead and tried to steal the tigers dinner. Both girls laughed hysterically as the seals wrestled one another in the water. Adyson called the water "icky and dirty" and said she didn't want to go in there. At one point Adyson heard a woman tell her child to go get Grandma and Adyson freaked out! She kept saying "mommy gama here gama here!!!!". So cute that she thought it was hers...
We hope to start seeing more beautiful days like this soon. We are ready for the warm weather.

Our New Blog

Welcome!

I decided to start this blog so that our family and friends can stay up to date with all that is going on with us out here in Denver.
The girls are getting so big and are so much fun to be around. Adyson turned 2 in December and Olivia just celebrated her 4th birthday in February. Wow, time flies!
