Princess Olivia
Big Boy T!
Trevor had his 8 week check up last Friday (a few weeks late). He weighed in at 11 lbs 15 oz and measured 22 1/2 inches long! He has gained over 5 lbs since he was born...crazy! Trevor was in the 35th percentile for height, 55th for height, and 20th for head circumference. This is remarkable, b.c I don't think our girls have ever made it past the 3rd percentile mark!
Olivia accompanied us to the doctors office. It was good practice for her to see Trevor get his shots (3) because she has to get several at her 5 year check up in a few weeks. Something tells me she is not going to be the best patient either =). Aside from a terrible reaction to one of his oral vaccines, he did OK.
Here are some adorable pics of Trevor on the scale, and some of him in my lap at the office which Olivia took.

Ouch!!! Cool matching camo bandaids!
All better!!
Olivia reads Trevor a book....

While I was in the shower the night, the baby was sleeping on the floor. Apparently he woke up and started to fuss b.c when I came into the room, Olivia was rocking him and singing him songs.
Here is the link to the video. Turn your volume up...she is speaking very softly.

Let's Get The Snoring Out !
Yesterday was Adyson's surgery (tonsillectomy). She called it the surgery to get her snoring out =). What a long day!!! We had to be there for check in at 6 AM on the coldest day in years..... Adyson was wired the night before and did not get to sleep until well after 11:00. She was singing the ABCs (and other songs) in her bed for a few hours...
Surprisingly, she was very easy to get up the next morning and getting out of the door with all 3 kids that early was not nearly the challenge i predicted it would be. Uncle Steve met us there to watch the bookends so that we could both accompany Adyson during pre-up and post-op. We had been talking to Adyson for several weeks about her surgery so that she would be prepared (at least for pre-op) and nothing would come as a surprise. She got a cute teddy bear that she loved! When we walked back she changed into her cute gown and her big red socks. She was not too happy about taking her underwear off and at one point on a walk back from the bathroom she commented that "everyone could see my booty!!" So cute!
I was able to suit up and carry her right back to the OR which was great! As soon as we walked in the anesthesiologist held the gas mask up to her face as she rested her head on my shoulder. She sang her a few verses of the wheels on the bus and rubbed her back. When she passed out on my shoulder we laid her on the table...her eyes kind of rolled to the back of her head a bit =).
Anyway, the surgery was fairly quick and before we knew it we were back there to see her again. The surgeon decided to take her adenoids out as well. He said that they were huge, and obstructed almost all of her nasal airway! When they reversed the anesthesia she was initially pretty quiet but within a few minutes she was very disoriented and thrashing around a bit in my lap. She pulled her 02 monitor off and yanked her IV out with 3 of us standing right beside her (that's how quick she was). She was then freaked out b.c there was blood everywhere! It took several of us to hold her down to give her some pain meds, which of course she spit out. For those of you who know Adyson, this is very atypical, as she LOVES taking her medicine...almost too much! It's amazing how strong toddlers can be when they are angry and disoriented. They gave her tons of fluids during the procedure so, afraid that she needed to pee I put a pull up on her. Well, as you can predict she did not like that and screamed at the top of her lungs: "I'm a big girl, I don't wear pull-ups!!!!". Oh well!!!
We were allowed to go home after a few hours. After the nurse brought the DVD player in again (Ice Age!) she started to calm down a bit, and her speech was much less incoherent. She cried for her Uncle Steve, although unfortunately he had just left for a work meeting =(. As we packed up her things to go, she wanted to take all of the snacks with her that the nurses tried to bribe her with earlier... too bad you can't just throw melted ice pops and open containers of jello and applesauce into your purse =).
Adyson fell asleep in the car and stayed asleep for several hours when we returned home. When she woke up she again cried for Uncle Steve, who came over soon thereafter with an ice cream sundae from McDonald's. She ate it like she had been starved for days! Things have been pretty smooth since we have been home. She is OK for a few hours after she takes her pain meds and when they start to wear off she is in some discomfort. The doctor said that the pain should peak at day 5 when the scabs come off and her throat will then be pretty raw. Last night she insisted on eating pasta with the rest of us (we had originally set aside something much softer for her). She cried as she ate it b.c her throat hurt, although refused to stop eating it!!!! Typical Adyson!
Here are some pics of her in her adorable gown, taken before the surgery.

Birthday Party!
This year we decided to have a joint birthday party for the girls. Adyson's birthday was so close to the due date and we didn't want to take any chances...plus they have many of the same friends. Olivia wanted to have the party at the Little Gym again so the planning was nice and easy. I think that everyone who was invited showed up so there were tons of friends there which only made it more exciting for the girls! The party was a blast and everyone had so much fun, especially the girls which is what matters most.
Here are some pics....
